After acquiring land for about $3.8 million, Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing Co. in Framingham is planning to open an outdoor beer garden across the street from its current production facility.
In early May, the brewery purchased two separate properties from now-closed Hansen Electric Supply: the brewery’s current home at 81 Morton St., a 12,000-square-foot facility across the street where a beer garden is planned.
There will be no changes at the brewery’s current facility, according to General Manager Kelsey Roth.
Plans for the former Hansen Electric facility across the street are still up in the air, but plans call for a beer garden to be constructed in the building’s parking lot for now, Roth said.
Framingham officials have yet to sign off on the plans.
“We saw an opportunity to utilize the space this summer,” Roth said.
He didn’t detail possible plans for the building, but said it would need extensive renovations.
“We didn’t want to let that space go to waste, but it needs a lot of work,” Roth said.
Exhibit ‘A’ opened in the former Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers spot in 2016 after that brewery moved to another location in downtown Framingham.
