Worcester’s new innovation hub inks partnership with RI entrepreneurship center

Auxilium, a new Worcester-based innovation studio and accelerator opened in January, is partnering with fellow startup center RIHub in order to enhance both organization’s access to resources and mentorship opportunities.

Founded in 2019, RIHub is based in Providence, Rhode Island, and seeks to boost the state’s high-potential growth startups with access to resources and other support.

The partnership will allow each organization to have access to the other’s resources and will involve sharing of investor networks and educational opportunities, according to a Thursday press release from Auxilium.

“The talent emerging from Rhode Island’s universities and startup community is impressive, and we look forward to working with RIHub to help them succeed,” Zachary Dutton, executive director of Auxilium, said in the press release.

The partnership will involve access to funding for Rhode Island businesses in order to encourage scaling of their ventures in New England.

Auxilium is planning to launch its Accelerator Program in June, a three-month effort which will include an initial investment of $250,000 per startup, as well as an Innovation Studio set to launch in the fall, with access to $100,000 for early-stage startups.

“Our partnership with Auxilium is an exciting opportunity to create more resources and support for Rhode Island entrepreneurs.” Annette Tonti, executive director at RIHub, said in the press release. “By working together, we are fostering a stronger, more connected innovation ecosystem that benefits startups at all stages.”

Eric Casey is the managing editor at Worcester Business Journal, who primarily covers the manufacturing and real estate industries.
