Arlington-based American Alarm and Communications Inc. has acquired Sentinel Security Systems, a Worcester company that’s provided home security services in the region since 1995.
Sentinel operations will merge with American Alarm’s Central Massachusetts facility in Auburn, according to a statement from American Alarm. The approximately 400 residential and commercial systems previously monitored by Sentinel will be monitored by American Alarm’s 24-hour security command center, the company said.
Sentinel founder Fran Cahill will join American Alarm and continue to manage Sentinel’s former operations following the merger. Cahill cited rapid advances in the industry as the reason for the merger.
“…As I looked to the future, it became clear to me that this was the right time to begin a transition that would ensure my customers had access to the services they need. I knew that American Alarm was the right partner for the future,” Cahill said.
