A longtime local dance studio has been passed down from its founders to one of its former students.
Charlotte and Ben Klein, who founded Charlotte Klein Dance Centers in 1952, announced the sale of their studios in Worcester and Westborough to Rachel Rubin.
Rubin, a Worcester resident, was a young child when she enrolled as a student at Charlotte Klein, and was later a member of the dance company before joining the studio as a manager and teacher, according to a statement from the founders. Rubin was also a co-owner of a Mendon dance studio after graduating with a degree in dance from Dean College in Franklin.
“I can’t think of a more qualified person to transition the business to and I have every confidence that Rachel will be most successful,” Charlotte Klein said in a statement.
Charlotte Klein Dance Centers’ name will not change under Rubin’s ownership.
