Savers Bank has named Gregory Vilardo as the Southbridge-based financial institution’s new vice president and chief financial officer.
In his new position, Vilardo will head the bank’s accounting and investment functions and promote its financial stability, working to make sure its financial management aligns with the bank’s strategic initiatives, according to a Tuesday press release from Savers.
“We’re pleased to welcome Gregory to our executive team,” Savers President and CEO Rosemary Picard said in the release. “His expertise and proven track record will be invaluable as we continue to expand our services and enhance our financial performance. We’re confident that his leadership will help us achieve our long-term goals and reinforce our commitment to our customers and community.”
Before joining Savers, Vilardo most recently served as senior vice president and chief administrative officer at New Hampshire-based residential wholesale mortgage lender Northeast Home Loan. Having begun his career as a public accountant and financial consultant, Vilardo has held roles including vice president, regulatory financial reporting at Farmington Bank and chief financial officer at Enjet Aero New Britain. Both were based in Connecticut and later acquired.
Vilardo replaces previous Vice President and CFO Vanessa Stratton, who left the position in August.
Vilardo earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Siena College in New York.
With $535.5 million in local deposits and $718 million in total assets, Savers is the 18th largest bank in Central Massachusetts when ranked by local deposits as of June 30, 2023 by WBJ’s Research Department. Founded in 1910, Savers operates seven locations with 88 employees in Southbridge, Uxbridge, Auburn, Grafton, Charlton, and Sturbridge.
