Market Basket fate? It’ll be sold
The battle over the future of the Market Basket grocery chain continues, with the board of directors weighing a buyout offer from fired CEO Arthur T. Demoulas, while hundreds of workers loyal to him continue to demand his reinstatement. In the meantime, the standoff between the warring sides of the Demoulas family is reportedly taking a toll on business. But last Wednesday, Gov. Deval Patrick, whose offer to mediate the dispute was accepted, said the two sides were closing in on an agreement. In last week's Flash Poll, most readers think the company will eventually be sold — to either Arthur T. or a competitor.
