Lankton Makes Elite Hall Of Fame

Gordon B. Lankton, chairman of the board at Nypro Inc. in Clinton and founder of the Museum of Russian Icons, is one of the first 10 people to be inducted into IndustryWeek's new Manufacturing Hall of Fame.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs and former General Electric CEO Jack Welch were also part of the "inaugural class" named by IndustryWeek, a publication for executive and operations leaders in manufacturing.

IndustryWeek citied Lankton's role in building the company's annual revenue from $600,000 in 1962 to $1 billion today. It also applauded his sale of the company to an employee stock ownership plan in 1998, creating one of the largest employee-owned companies in the country.

Nypro now operates 49 businesses in 16 countries.
