Home prices fell in the Worcester area significantly faster than in the nation at large from September 2010 to September 2011, according to research and business services firm CoreLogic.
Prices in the Worcester area fell 7.5 percent over the year, compared with 4.1 percent nationwide. Excluding distressed sales like short sales and foreclosures, the drop was 3.8 percent locally and 1.1 percent nationwide.
Massachusetts was near the middle of the pack among the states, with a price drop of 2.2 percent total and 1.6 percent excluding distressed sales.
