Fitchburg Manufacturer Sees Q2 Improvement

Arrhythmia Research Technology Inc. of Fitchburg said it made a $219,000 profit on $5.8 million in revenue in the second quarter.

The manufacturer of sensors and snaps and its wholly owned subsidiary Micron Products Inc. made a $77,000 profit on $5.4 million in revenue in the same period a year ago.

For the first half of the year, the company's profit was $321,000 on $11.4 million in revenue compared to $159,000 and $10.1 million the previous year.

The company said greater sales volume in defense related products and sensors, as well as increased automation of the manufacturing process, drove the earnings increases.
