Career highlights: My career path has offered me a fun, challenging experience with the opportunity to meet many people and the pleasure to work with local Worcester businesses. The city of Worcester has provided me many opportunities. With a positive vision and goal setting, my career has been all about communication and has led me to be a people person.

I founded my company World Brella in 2009. It’s a marketing agency focused on the Latin community, which leverages my personal background. I was born in Venezuela, while my family is from Ecuador. I moved to Worcester when I was 4 years old. World Brella is a full-service provider for our clients, helping them develop everything from logos, to business cards, signage, etc.

Community involvement: I was just recently involved in a fundraiser to help immigrant children. I also have the pleasure of working with the Worcester-based agency Centro Las Americas, which provides services to the local Latino community.

Biggest success: My biggest success has been launching World Brella. The toughest part about launching the new business was establishing new clients as well as dealing with the pressure of having employees who are counting on you to succeed. There were a lot struggles in the first six months as we waited for clients to come through the door. I’m glad I was able to gut it out. After several years, we are still going strong. I am very blessed.

Biggest challenge: My biggest challenge was helping to develop and organize a celebrity fashion show along with Christina Andrianopoulos. The show featured local designers and boutiques. It raised money for the National Association for Immigrant and Refugee Children. The event, which was held in February of this year, drew 150 attendees.

Mentor: I met my mentor through the pages of Success Magazine. His name is Jim Rohn, and he was a successful entrepreneur. He is not alive anymore, but his philosophy has shifted my thinking and has opened my heart to new horizons. He was a powerful, wise man who truly inspired me.

Hidden talent: Drawing.
