The City of Worcester has put out Requests For Proposals (RFPs) out for three development and assessment projects.
The first seeks proposals to purchase and redevelop the 6.5-acre former Greenwood Street landfill property. The parcel is zoned for manufacturing and the RFP was put together by the city’s economic development division and Department of Public Works and Parks.
The city is also trying once again to lease ground-level commercial space in the Major Taylor Boulevard parking garage. The 11,000-square-foot space has 238 feet of glass-paneled frontage on Major Taylor Boulevard. The city issued an RFP for the garage retail space at the beginning of the year in hopes of seeing construction underway there by summer.
A brownfields assessment consultant is sought by the third RFP issued today. The city’s economic development division is looking for consultants to perform environmental and risk assessments, management plans, groundwater and soil sampling, remediation and cleanup.
