Framingham-based discount retailer TJX Cos. Inc. said February sales were down 2 percent compared to the same month a year ago.
Sales for February totaled $1.22 billion. In 2008, the month’s sales hit $1.25 billion. Same-store sales were flat over the same period.
The company said unfavorable foreign exchange rates contributed to the sales dip, but also said its flat same-store sales results were pleasing considering “the tough economic environment.”
TJX operates TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, A.J. Wright and other discount retail stores.
