RXi Pharmaceuticals Corp. of Worcester has won a Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation Award for RNA interference design and delivery technology.
Frost & Sullivan, an international business research and consulting firm, recognized RXi’s development of proprietary RNAi compounds and the delivery systems for those compounds. The compounds recognized were developed by RXi specifically for therapeutic use and may be used to develop RNAi-based drugs.
RNAi seeks to treat diseases by interfering with the genes thought to be responsible for those diseases.
Frost & Sullivan’s Technology Innovation Award recognizes companies and individuals that carry out new research that results in innovations that are expected to contribute to industry.
