Otis gets major Australian elevator contract

Farmington-based Otis Elevator Co. said it’s been awarded a contract to install 17 elevators and escalators at a 500-foot office building in the main business district of Brisbane, Australia. The tower, called 400 George Street, will be the first building in the business district there to be certified as “5 Star Green Star.” Thiess Contractors Pty. Ltd., a major Australasian contractor, is developing the project. Otis did not disclose the value of the contract.
