Hologic to launch updated device to address uterine bleeding

Marlborough medical device manufacturer Hologic, Inc., announced Tuesday the launch of a new device designed to address abnormal uterine bleeding.
The NovaSure V5 global endometrial ablation device will officially launch at the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists 50th Global Congress, which runs Nov. 14 to 17.
The NovaSure device first received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration 20 years ago, and in 2018 was used to treat more than 3 million patients, per the release.
The new V5 version includes updated technology designed to increase the accuracy and range of use.
