Worcester restaurant closing after 25 years

A long-standing Park Avenue restaurant in Worcester has announced it will go out with a bang this Saturday with a live band to help celebrate 25 years in business.

The owners of Sakura Tokyo posted the announcement on Facebook yesterday, thanking patrons for the last 25 years and announcing that the Japanese steak house’s last day of business would be Oct.15.

“We have enjoyed being there with you to celebrate your joyous occasions and comforting you while you grieved,” the restaurant posted on the social media platform.

According to MassLive, the space will serve as the new home for a Dunkin’ Donuts and a gas station with a convenience store to be built by Branded Realty Group.
