Tour mansion, keep restaurant in mind

Digital Federal Credit Union, the owner of the former TiNovo restaurant, would like prospective buyers and brokers to have a look at the 55 Pearl St. building during an open house Wednesday.

But buyers must know the property's deed requires that the building include a restaurant. The building is known historically as the Bull Mansion/Grand Army of the Republic building.

The city's economic development office is also encouraging prospective buyers to see the downtown building first-hand.

The open house is scheduled for between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The property's broker is George & Co. of Worcester.

According to George, at least part of the building must continue to be used as a restaurant. Other space there could be used for office space, retail, residential, medical, catering and other uses.

DCU has owned the building since it seized it in foreclosure from its previous owner.
