Framingham-based discount retailer TJX Cos. Inc. said second-quarter sales increased 7 percent compared to a year ago as its profit hit $305 million.
The company’s second-quarter profit was $262 million.
Sales for the quarter hit $5.1 billion compared to $4.7 billion a year earlier. Same-store sales were up 3 percent.
For the first half of the year, TJX reported sales of $10.1 billion, an 11-percent increase over last year, and a profit of $636 million.
TJX operates several discount retail outlets, including T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Marshalls and others.
