MetroWest Medical Center Leonard Morse Hospital, a Tenet Healthcare behavioral health center in Natick, announced on Wednesday it had reached a 30-month labor agreement with Laborers' International Union of North America, which represents 75 of the center’s mental health counselors and patient care associates.
Tenet Healthcare is the owner of Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, where members of the Massachusetts Nurses Association have been on strike for almost nine months, centered around nurses’ concerns about staffing ratios.
This deal with LIUNA marks the third Massachusetts collective bargaining agreement Tenet Healthcare has entered into since the Saint Vincent’s nurses strike began, per the press release. The other two in Massachusetts were between MetroWest Medical Center Framingham Union Hospital and the Service Employees International Union in July, and between Saint Vincent Hospital and the United Food and Commercial Workers in March.
Leonard Morse reached a tentative agreement with LIUNA on Nov. 1, and the agreement was later ratified by employees on Nov. 22.
