Two businesspeople, who previously owned an apartment complex in Southbridge, bought a 13-acre commercial retail plaza in that town for $12.6 million on Wednesday.
The plaza was sold to Laurel Ridge Apartments LLC, which is registered to Thomas and William Gajewski of Webster, according to the Worcester South District Registry of Deeds. Under the same entity name, the Gajewskis owned an apartment complex at 555 Worcester St. in Southbridge, which was known as Laurel Ridge Apartments under their ownership.
The pair sold the complex in 2017 for $5.45 million, and it is now known as the Worcester Street Apartments.
In Wednesday’s sale, the seller was Southbridge Fair Investors LLC, which is registered to Paramount Realty Services in New Jersey.
Located at 479 East Main St., the plaza includes an Anytime Fitness gym, Family Dollar store, Big Y supermarket, and Ocean State Job Lot, among other shops. The property includes more than 111,000 square feet of space and is assessed by the Town of Southbridge at $10 million.
Apartments? Who would want to live there. It always smells so bad from the waste treatment plant.
