Seven Hills CEO named Becker’s first ‘professor of practice’

Courtesy President and CEO of the Seven Hills Foundation David Jordan has been named Becker College's first Professor of Practice in Social Innovation.

In a continued bid to expand the college’s focus on nonacademic career paths, Becker College has appointed the president and CEO of the Seven Hills Foundation as the school’s first Professor of Practice in Social Innovation.

The announcement of David Jordan’s hiring continues the school’s focus on global citizenship education, according to Becker President Robert Johnson.

“The depth of Dr. Jordan’s knowledge in social entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as his visionary leadership of the Seven Hills Foundation, will serve to provide our students with a deeper understanding of what it means to be true citizens of the world, capable of transforming lives and communities,” Johnson said in a statement. “He is a highly accomplished social entrepreneur and innovator who has brought about significant and remarkable change in communities locally, and globally.”

Jordan is a longtime adjunct professor at Clark University, where he teaches courses in social entrepreneurship, strategic management and other graduate- and undergraduate-level subjects.

“(I) intend for students to gain practice-oriented insight, knowledge, and skills in driving social innovations, which are critical to the success of a range of industries—from nonprofit to for-profit businesses,” Jordan said in a statement.
