Visitors to Saint Vincent Hospital and MetroWest Medical Center can expect to be screened for fever, respiratory symptoms or travel to high-risk locations before entering the hospitals, the sibling facilities said Monday.
Saint Vincent in Worcester and MetroWest, with campuses in Framingham and Natick, will require patients and visitors to wear a face mask and sanitize their hands, both facilities said as they and other hospitals begin reopening for a broader array of services, including some that had been postponed during the worst of the coronavirus pandemic. Specifically designated waiting areas will allow physical distancing and include additional cleaning protocols.
All staff, physicians, patients and visitors have been and will continue to be screened for coronavirus symptoms, the hospitals said.
The hospitals' safety standards include masks and personal protective equipment for staff, more thorough cleaning of surfaces, virtual appointments and remote monitoring, and coronavirus testing for patients, physicians and staff who require it.
