Orders For U.S. Goods Increase In Sept.

Orders for goods manufactured in the United States increased by 0.9 in September, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Gains in machinery, autos, defense goods and chemicals were responsible for the monthly increase.
Factory orders have increased in five of the past six months, but are down 13.9 percent for the first nine months of the year.
