Twitter, LinkedIn and other social networking tools can seem daunting, but the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce wants to make it easy to learn while you meet other business people.
Its Networking at Noon event from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, will combine lunch with a panel discussion of local experts on social networking. It will be held at the Clark University Graduate Management Center at 1671 Worcester Road in Framingham.
Ed Nunes, business banker with TD Banknorth in Framingham, who organizes the monthly lunchtime networking events, has asked four panelists who are local experts in social networking tools. They are Mike Langford of Tweetworks, Jeff Cutler of JeffCuttler.com, Cappy Popp of Thought Labs and Eric Guerin of Smart Market Movie.
Nunes has a framework for each networking event: 15 to 20 minutes of networking, then 45 minutes of a panel discussion during which comments or questions from the audience are encouraged and then a wrap up followed by eating the lunch you brought yourself.
"Participation runs the gamut from six or seven people to 20 to 25. It all depends on the weather, the time of year and the subject," Nunes said.
