Old Sturbridge Village Attendance Up

Old Sturbridge Village had its best attendance in seven years as the number of visitors to the living history museum increased 12 percent over last year.

Last year the museum attracted 273,752 visitors, up from 244,008 in 2009. It’s the museum’s third straight year of attendance increases.

Foreign visitors increased 18 percent while out-of-state visitors were up 11 percent. In-state residents visiting the museum jumped 32 percent.

The village also posted its single-day attendance record when 11,000 people visited the museum in August for Free Fun Friday.

Various events, including the museum’s July 4 festivities and its Revolutionary War reenactments, each saw record turnout.
