February sales of new, single family homes increased by 4.7 percent over January’s sales, according to a joint U.S. Census Bureau and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development report.
In January, 322,000 new homes were sold. In February, that number climbed to 337,000.
However, February’s new home sales level was 41.1 percent below February 2008. The median price for new homes sold in February was $200,900.
