Ernie's Auto Wash says its new West Boylston facility, the company's fifth location, uses as much as 99 percent less water than washing a car at home.
Ernies recently opened the West Boylston wash at 114 West Boylston St. It includes automatic wash bays and self-service bays. The facility uses biodegradable detergents and waxes and compared to washing at home, uses between 93 and 99 percent less water in the self-service bays and as much as 86 percent less water in the touch-free automatic bays.
Ernies was founded by Ernest Pallotta, who passed away in 1997. The company is now run by his son, Christopher Pallotta.
In addition to the new West Boylston location, Ernie's has facilities in Spencer, Auburn and Worcester.
