Nearly all labor markets tracked by the state experienced a drop in seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates in March, according to statistics from the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
The seasonally unadjusted statewide unemployment rates in March dropped four-tenths of a percent from the month prior, ending at 8.2 percent. That was down from 9.1 percent during the same month last year.
The only area of the state that saw an increase in its unemployment rate in March was Fall River, which gained five-tenths of a percentage point.
The Worcester area joined several metropolitan areas across the state in monthly and annual job gains.
The Worcester metropolitan showed a seasonally unadjusted gain of 1,873 jobs in March and a gain of 3,359 jobs since March of 2010.
Worcester had a seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate of 8.6 percent in March, down from 9 percent in February and down from 9.6 percent in 2010.
The Framingham area had a 6 percent unemployment rate in March, down from 6.4 percent in February.
