Nan’s Kitchen, a farm-to-table restaurant chain with Central Massachusetts locations in Stow and Southborough, has raised $1.2 million to fuel expansion efforts after a customer-focused fundraising campaign allowed fans to invest in the brand in exchange for a part of ownership.
Funds raised from the campaign will be used to enhance guest experiences and fund expansion efforts, according to a press release issued by the restaurant on Friday. The funding round was announced in a newsletter sent to the restaurant’s customer base.
"We are beyond thrilled with the support we’ve received from our community," Jordan Mackey, co-founder and CEO of Nan’s Kitchen, said in the press release. "This investment not only allows us to grow, but also strengthens the bond we share with our customers, staff, and neighbors. It’s a testament to the power of local support and the belief in what we’re building here at Nan’s."
Mackey founded the company with his wife Reanna “Nan” Mackey. Nan’s Kitchen opened its first location in Stow in 2020, expanding to a second restaurant at a former Wendy’s location on Route 9 in Southborough in 2022 and a third location in Westford in January. Nan’s Kitchen has plans for a fourth location in Andover, which it expects to open in the first half of this year.
"Being able to involve the community in our growth story is a special opportunity," Scott Myles, vice president of Nan’s Kitchen, said in the release. "The funds we’ve raised will directly benefit those who’ve supported us from the very beginning. As we expand, we’re committed to maintaining the personalized service, attention to detail, and vibrant atmosphere that have made Nan’s a destination for food lovers."
The company serves fried and roasted chicken dishes, as well as seafood, steak, and sides like mashed potatoes, vegetables, and biscuits, with the goal of serving as a Boston Market for Generation Z, according to The Boston Globe. Nan’s Kitchen locations are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
