Sales of new single-family homes fell in June by 16.7 percent compared to levels seen in the same month last year, but improved significantly compared to May, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
New single-family homes sold at an annual rate of 330,000 units during the month.
That’s a 23.6 percent increase over May.
The median sale price in June was $213,400. The average price was $242,900. By the end of June, there were 210,000 new homes on the market, a 7.6-month supply at the current sales rate.
