Grocery tracking, recipe system readies for launch

Marlborough-based KitchenAttendant LLC is preparing to launch its signature product, a touch-screen food inventory, tracking and recipe system for the home kitchen.

According to company CEO Tim Roberts, KitchenAttendant is currently negotiating with one supermarket chain to test the system. Roberts said the company and the supermarket could allow consumers to use the system for free for a period of time.

The KitchenAttendant is a touch-screen appliance designed to fit on a kitchen counter. From there, it connects with grocery stores and keeps track of items, compiles shopping lists, and allows grocery stores to send coupons for items the system's users need.

The KitchenAttendant also generates recipes using items it knows are in the home, and compliant with any diet needs or food allergy considerations.

According to Roberts, the system also alerts shoppers of food recalls and other food safety problems.
