Marlborough medical device firm ReWalk Robotics will now be known as Lifeward.
Founded in 2001, the now rebranded Lifeward manufacturers devices aiming to assist and restore movement in people suffering from a variety of neurological issues. The company announced in November its exoskeleton for neurological injuries would be included in Medicare coverage for 2024.
The company said the rebranding was made to reflect the growth and evolution of the 23-year old firm, according to a press release issued by Lifeward on Monday. The company agreed to acquire AlterG, a California-based company specializing in physical and neurological rehabilitation, in August.
“With the recent addition of innovative solutions like the AlterG Anti-Gravity systems to our portfolio, we have surpassed the vision of our original name,” Larry Jasinski, CEO of Lifeward, said in the press release. “The transformation of ReWalk Robotics into Lifeward speaks to the broader goal of the Company to be the driving force to elevate the standard of care in overcoming physical limitations and disabilities to empower individuals to do what they love.”
The company began doing business under the new name on Monday, and the company’s ticker on the Nasdaq stock exchange will be changed from $RWLK to $LFWD to reflect the move on Tuesday. The company has launched a new website, GoLifeward.com, to highlight the branding change.
“Under the Lifeward brand, our newly combined commercial team will represent our full portfolio of solutions as a unified entity,” Charles Remsberg, chief sales officer at Lifeward, said in the press release. “We believe this will allow us to drive growth for our business through better support of our customers across the rehabilitation spectrum.”
