After 18 years at Insurance Marketing Agencies Inc. and 10 years in the commercial insurance business, Dawn Lineberry is now assistant vice president of commercial lines for the company, which is based in Worcester and Newton. In this Q&A she says her promotion from supervisor to AVP has brought her more responsibility and more chance to be creative.

Q. How are you settling in at your new office?
A. The transition is a little hectic at the moment but our team is very professional and great to work with. I'm really looking forward to meeting the challenges ahead.
Q. What's the biggest surprise you've had in starting the job?
A. No big surprises yet!
Q. What challenges do you see in your new position?
A. Leveraging technology to increase productivity. It's a must if we are to continue providing excellent service.
Q. How different is this job from your previous position?
A. Well, it certainly comes with more responsibility. It also allows me to be more creative in helping develop the organization.
Q. How close is this to what you imagined in high school you'd end up doing?
A. In high school in England, I could never have anticipated a career in the U.S. insurance business. It certainly has been exciting and I am very happy with my career choice.
Q. Where's the best place to get lunch near your new location?
A. Garden Fresh (across from the courthouse)
Q. What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
A. I am so focused on this new role I am not really thinking that far ahead but if it included working with this team, I would be very happy.
