Confidence In Mass. Real Estate Market Continues Decline

The Realtor Market Index compiled by the Massachusetts Association of Realtors dropped for the fourth consecutive month year-over-year in September with a score of 20 on a 100-point scale.

MAR’s Realtor Price Index was down 12.7 percent to 42.7, the third straight month of year-over-year declines.

The indexes are compiled by survey, and 23 percent of agents told the MAR that the number of agents in their offices had increased while 33 percent said the number of agents decreased during the month.

The MAR said the residential real estate market is ruled by uncertainty. Prices and interest rates remain low, but activity on the market is down significantly.
