The state Department of Energy Resources is holding hearings on proposed changes to biomass regulations in Pittsfield and Gardner Friday.
The Gardner hearing is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Mount Wachusett Community College.
Proposed regulations would change the way biomass energy projects qualify for renewable energy credits.
In a press release, the Massachusetts Forest Landowners Association argues that the new regulations are overly strict and “arbitrary.”
