In an effort to stay up and running but limit the spread of the coronavirus, Millis marijuana firm Commonwealth Cannabis Co. has instituted a number of measures to keep its customers apart.
At its Millis and Southborough dispensaries, the company has marked X's on the floor for customers to stand on, in order to remain separated by six feet. Every other cash register is closed.
All employees are wearing gloves, and a streamlined check-out process allows for transactions to be completed in less than 4 minutes, on average. The dispensary is also encouraging online ordering.
CommCan has seen a spike in the number of transactions at its dispensaries, along with an increase in the amount each customer is buying. The company surmises this is because customers are forced to self-quarantine, acting out of fear of a federal or state temporary shut-down of all retail establishments; or are worried about a shortage of product.
