AMSC: More Time Needed To File Financials

American Superconductor, the Devens-based wind turbine parts manufacturer, has asked the Nasdaq stock exchange for an extension to file its most recent quarterly and annual reports.

Nasdaq sent the company a letter on Thursday reminding officials that two reports have not yet been filed. In response, the company asked for a 180-day extension to file the reports, which would give the company until mid-December.

Nasdaq had warned the company in June that it failed to file its annual report. The newest letter from Nasdaq concerns the company’s quarterly report for the three months ending June 30.

American Superconductor has been mired in financial turbulence since its largest single customer, a Chinese company, stopped accepting parts orders and refused to pay the company for products it received.
