Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, UMass Medical School
Company location: Shrewsbury
Residence: Holden
Age: 31
Career highlights: I began my career working in development at a large local nonprofit organization. This was followed by a marketing position in the hospitality industry for a number of years. Eventually, I was led back to development work in my current position at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Working in alumni relations, I have the opportunity to utilize both my development and marketing skills. I am responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with both our alumni and parent constituents and establishing programs that increase alumni participation, involvement and awareness. I find personal fulfillment in working for organizations that have a positive impact on society.
Community involvement: I have been involved with the Holden Area Chamber of Commerce for five years. I feel that it is important to be involved and give back to the community in which we live. I serve as a member of the board, on various committees and chair the Scholarship Scramble Golf Tournament, which raises money to fund college scholarships for Wachusett-area high school seniors. I have also chaired Holden Days, an event that attracts thousands of visitors to Holden and provides our businesses with great exposure. Currently, I now have the privilege of serving as the president of the Holden Area Chamber of Commerce.
Biggest success: My biggest success has been being part of an organization that is an outstanding leader in the community and that has had such a positive impact on Central Massachusetts and beyond. It is rewarding being part of a team and working with those that make a difference.
Mentors: Although I have been very fortunate to work alongside and know many talented people, I would have to say that my father is my mentor. My father demonstrates that with hard work, respect for others, ambition, and honesty, you can achieve great success.
