2008 Shaping Up Nicely For Bean Counters

A slumping economy in 2008 may yield fewer beans, but demand for bean counters has never been hotter, according to a new study by staffing firm Robert Half International.
The five most in-demand accounting professions in 2008, according to Half, will be internal auditors, senior accountants, hedge fund accountants, financial analysts and public accountants.
Salaries for the coveted financial posts are expected to rise between 5.4 percent and 7.7 percent, depending on seniority, experience and communication skills, the survey found.
