Consumer Confidence edges up

After falling slightly in April, The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Index, gained two points and stood at 108 in May, up from 106.3. The index is based on a survey of 5,000 U.S. households, and included responses up May 21. Economists with the group said a more upbeat assessment of business conditions aided the increase, although concerns over a tightening job market and rising gas prices persisted.
