WPI Robotics Program Wins Accreditation

Worcester Polytechnic Institute's undergraduate program for robotics engineering has received accreditation from a nationwide engineering organization, the school announced.

WPI said its program is the first in the United States to secure the accreditation from ABET, formerly the Accreditation Board for Engineering. The accreditation comes four years after the university became the first in the nation to offer such a program.

"Our robotics engineering major was carefully crafted to produce graduates who can design the next generation of robotics systems, advance the science and technology behind robots and autonomous machines, and found and lead tomorrow's robotics ventures," said WPI Provost Eric Overstrom.
