Worcester Credit Union’s branch at 315 Main St. will close later this summer. The last day the branch will be open is Aug. 21, according to the credit union’s website.
There are not enough customers to keep the branch open, a question-and-answer announcement on the website said. The announcement was made online.
“It’s a beautiful branch and we’re proud of the way we worked together over the past 10 years to serve our members in the downtown area. But the reality today is that many people choose remote and mobile banking options more often than they visit a bank or credit union branch,” the announcement said.
The credit union may keep the ATM at the location, the statement said. After the closing, members may use the branches at 520 West Boylston St., which has drive-through service and Saturday hours; or the full-service branch at Worcester Technical High School, 1 Skyline Drive.
