Worcester County reported 18 new coronavirus cases and three new deaths Monday

Worcester County had 18 new coronavirus cases and three fatalities Monday, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. 

The new cases in the county bring the total to 12,342 to date. Throughout Massachusetts, there were 89 confirmed and 12 probable coronavirus cases reported and 108,776 overall. 

Fatalities within Worcester County contribute to the 924 recorded since the beginning of the pandemic. Statewide, there were 35 confirmed coronavirus deaths Monday, adding to the 8,095 total.

DPH reported 6,773 newly administered coronavirus tests on Monday. 

As of June 25, the City of Worcester reported 57 new coronavirus cases, adding to the 5,172 overall since the pandemic began. The city’s next coronavirus update will be made on Thursday.

UMass Memorial Health Care and Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester reported 49 inpatients and 13 in intensive care unit.

MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham and Natick report 21 suspected and confirmed cases and Milford Regional Medical Center reported 16. In total the hospitals reported three in the ICU. Other Central Massachusetts hospitals such as Heywood Hospital and Health Alliance in Leominster report six inpatients and three in the ICU.

Nationally, there have been more 2.6 million cases and 129,544 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Globally, coronavirus cases sit at around 10.4 million with 509,516 fatalities.
