Worcester Business Journal has partnered with the Worcester Historical Museum to run a year-long trivia contest in celebration of the 300th anniversary of Worcester’s founding on June 14, 1722.
Readers, who wish to participate in the contest, should submit their answers into the form below by Feb. 3. The readers will the most correct answers will win a special year-end prize package.
St. Pierre Chain & Wire Rope has been manufacturing pitching horseshoes in Worcester since 1930, initially as a side business to making tire chains and then later anchor chains for the U.S. Navy. In 2017, the company was invited to a Made in America event at The White House and presented a set of pitching horseshoes to then President Donald Trump.
Trivia question: Which U.S. president was an enthusiastic player of horseshoes and counted his set made by St. Pierre as his favorite?
And the answer to last edition’s question: Sprague Electric, which made a special silicon disc for Apollo 11 astronauts to leave messages from world leaders on the Moon, is now known as Allegro MicroSystems.
