Westborough-based United Medial Systems has acquired MoBx Mobile Breast Services of Vacaville, Calif., in a cash deal.
The acquisition allows UMS to expand its operations throughout Northern California. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
UMS operates mobile services to more than 600 hospitals in 32 states and South America. It specializes in breast biopsy and other procedures. The arrangement allows hospitals to offer certain services without investing in expensive equipment.
