WBJ Talk Back

“The results don’t surprise me. Twitter strikes me as a fad. It seems natural that people would quickly tire of logging in to follow or post silly messages about all manner of trivia.”

Barbara Bissonnette on a report from Boston-based HubSpot that the majority of registered Twitter users have never issued a single tweet.

The most skilled leaders make you part of the team and excited to do your ‘indispensable’ job. Skilled dancers do the same. I’ve had the opportunity to work under some fabulous leaders and dance with a few good dancers and both made me forget my need to do things my way, my need to lead.”

Samantha McDonald on a discussion at the WBJ’s LinkedIn Group about whether it’s easier to lead or follow.

“I agree totally that SAT’s, ACT’s and other admission tests do not provide a meaningful assessment of an individual’s potential for success in a higher education environment. Studies consistently show that some people are very good at taking tests yet do not have a firm command of the subject matter and vice versa.”

Sharon Arnolds on news that Worcester-based Assumption College is the latest school to drop standardized tests from admissions qualifications.
