Wakefield Company Faces Larceny Charges

Commonwealth Tank Inc. (CommTank), a Wakefield-based oil tank installation and removal company, along with its president and treasurer, was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court on Friday on charges of larceny, misleading advertising and offering to practice engineering without necessary registration.

According to an investigation by the Massachusetts Environmental Crimes Strike Force (ECSF), CommTank "knowingly deceived clients and misrepresented compliance with environmental laws to justify additional work and expenses," the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office said in a press release.

CommTank President Kevin Hoag and Treasurer Christina Hoag, both of Reading, pled not guilty and will be back in court for a pre-trial conference on Feb. 3.
