U.S. Loses Top Ranking In Competitiveness Report

Switzerland has topped the United States as the world's most competitive economy in the latest Global Competitiveness Report from the World Economic Forum.

The fall marks the first time since the forum began the competitiveness report in 2004 that the United States has been out of the top spot.

The forum said the country's economic crash exposed one of its longstanding weaknesses: too great a focus on financial services.

Other top countries include Singapore, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Germany.
