To keep more college grads in Worcester, focus on downtown

A new study by the Worcester Regional Research Bureau says officials must do more to prevent students who graduate from colleges in and around Worcester from leaving the city. The survey of professionals in the 25-to-34 age bracket revealed that less than one in five intends to stay in Worcester. While keeping more of them here is a priority, especially with the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, what one thing can the city do toward that goal? According to the results of our Flash Poll for the week of Sept. 1, the top answer was to deliver on plans to make downtown a more happening place.
