Thermo Fisher Scientific, the Waltham-based medical servicing company with operations in Central Massachusetts, has completed its acquisition of Swedish firm Phadia.
Phadia specializes in blood tests and clinical diagnostics of allergies and autoimmune diseases. The company has 1,500 employees who will be joining Thermo Fisher’s specialty diagnostics division. In total, Thermo Fisher employs 37,000 workers internationally.
Thermo Fisher has raised its revenue guidance because of the deal, saying it expects Phadia to add $190 million to the company’s revenues. Year-end revenues are expected to be in the range of $11.79 billion to $11.89 billion, a 12 percent increase from last year.
